Summary Description:

The O&M Journeyman Electrician is responsible for performing quality work for the company, as well as ensuring jurisdictional and code compliance. The candidate must adhere to company and industry guidelines, in addition to performing ongoing installation, service, and warranty work. Additionally, the O&M Journeyman Electrician shall continually improve the quality and safety of field teams through regular training and informative meetings.

O&M Journeyman Electrician Job Responsibilities:

• Diagnose PV system issues, including non-operation and under-performance situations, then develop and administer a remediation.
• Troubleshoot and resolve solar electric warranty and service issues that arise with: modules, inverters, and all system components to ensure maximum system performance.
• Record and submit daily work orders associated with serviced systems.
• Ensure a high degree of workmanship as service and warranty work are completed.
• The ability to read and understand photovoltaic plant as-built drawings.
• Knowledge of basic commercial wiring methods.
• Test and commission electrical equipment.
• Assess safety hazards, conduct safety training, ensure job site safety and satisfy OSHA requirements.
• Ensure electrical PPE, tools and equipment assigned are maintained in good working condition or replaced as required.

• Participates in training and meetings
• Willingness to assist with non-electrical and DC side work
• Perform other needed job tasks as requested by leadership
• Maintain regular communication with O&M Staff.

Requirements (knowledge, Skills and Abilities)

• Licensed Electrician minimum of Journeyman License
• Understanding of residential and commercial circuitry
• Experience diagnosing and repairing existing systems and electrical components
• Advanced pipe bending skills (at least ½ inch through 1-inch EMT)
• Working knowledge of NEC electrical codes and experience reading blue prints, plans and manufacturer specs
• Understanding of how various electrical components can be repaired in the most cost-effective manner possible
• High level of craftsmanship/workmanship with strong attention to detail
• Physically able to lift 75lbs and perform duties such as climbing, lifting and working outside in varying temperatures
• Able to climb ladders, work with tools, work in crawl spaces
• Not afraid of heights and able to climb on top of roofs
• Must have clean driving record
• Ability to pass background check and pre-employment and random drug screenings
• Accountable and Self-motivated and able to work without supervision
• Willing and able to travel based on the needs of the business
