Project Details

Affordable Solar was selected by the City of Truth or Consequences to provide a 25-year PP A for the City’s municipal electric utility system. Affordable Solar worked closely with the municipal utility to finalize a system design and approach that would enable the City to offset roughly 15% of it’s annual wholesale electric consumption from traditional utility providers.

The entire project development cycle, from issuance of the City’s RFP itself, to the completed construction and operation of the project, was approximately 13 months, with project completion in February 2015. This is a testament to Affordable Solar’s expertise in developing and constructing solar projects in a cost-effective and efficient manner. The City of Truth or Consequences 1.5MWac PV Generation Facility is comprised of 6,156x 305w poly-crystalline PV modules, series connected in strings of nineteen (19) modules for a total of 1,877.58kW DC of solar capacity. The array uses Array Technologies Dura-Track HZ single-axis trackers.
